How about the domain name?

Due to the closing of the freecode or freshmeat offering, I was thinking of an alternative. Here I like to discuss several questions about finding an alternative - or better - starting one!
There is a first attempt for a site. But I have to agree with that person prior to point to it.
I like to discuss the domain name currently used for the new open source software dictionary.
Is it telling the right intention?
Then I like to discuss how the new dictionary should look like. The original freecode appearence was a good way to publish about open source projects. There are some discussions about
some negative issues, but I do not start to discuss these here.
How to fund the new dictionary or freecode alternative?
Is croudfunding a way to keep it up and running?
Who should be able to announce new software and under what conditions?
Should commercial products be allowed in the new open source dictionary?
All the geeks and other oss software developers are welcome to discuss this!
